We are an introduction service
Au Pair Away introduces traveling families to former au pairs. We are not an employer, an agency, or a payment intermediary between families and caregivers. We charge families a platform access fee, described below, but we do not set rates, schedule work, process pay between the two parties, or guarantee that any arrangement happens.
Who we are
Au Pair Away is operated by Au Pair Away LLC, a Texas limited liability company. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. [Placeholder entity and jurisdiction — confirm before payments open.]
Fees and access passes
Caregivers pay nothing, ever. Families create an account, browse profiles, read references, post trips and read incoming messages for free; sending a message requires an access pass. A Trip Pass is $49 USD per 30 days and an Annual pass is $149 USD per 365 days. Prices are in US dollars and exclude sales tax or VAT, which is added at checkout where it applies. The pass buys access to the platform only — it is not payment for childcare, and we take no commission on what a family pays a caregiver.
Automatic renewal and cancellation
Both passes renew automatically at the end of each term — every 30 days for a Trip Pass, every 365 days for Annual — and the payment method on file is charged the same amount again until you cancel. We email you before each renewal. You may cancel at any time by writing to hello@aupairaway.com, and a one-click cancellation control will be available in the Access tab of your family account when payments open. Cancelling stops the next charge; the term you have already paid for runs to its end and you keep messaging until then. We do not pro-rate part-used terms.
Refund guarantee
If no caregiver has replied to you seven days after you buy a pass, we refund that term in full on request. Once a caregiver has replied, the term is not refundable. This guarantee is in addition to any refund or withdrawal right you have under the law where you live.
You agree terms directly
Families and caregivers negotiate hours, rates and responsibilities between themselves, and pay each other directly. Any agreement is between those two parties only.
Verification is a signal, not a guarantee
Identity checks, program document review and host-family references are meaningful signals, but families remain responsible for their own judgement, interviews and local legal requirements.
Accounts and removal
We may pause or remove a profile that breaks these terms, misrepresents its history, or is the subject of a credible safety report.
